Views and Visibility
Views and visibility characterise the design of the ‘Kö-Blick’ office and commercial building. It is being built in the city centre of Düsseldorf at the end of the Kö-Graben. The Kö-Graben is lined with magnificent old trees, runs down the centre of Königsallee and thus forms a green visual axis from the building site to the Hofgarten. Due to its exposed location on the axis of Königsallee, the building has a special urban significance. The entrance to Königsallee creates a highly visible address with a large foyer.
The new nine-storey building is rounded at the corner and blends into the perimeter block development with an eaves height of 31 metres and two staggered storeys. The ground floor of the property is fully built over in favour of retail space. The upper floors will be used for services and offices; flats and roof terraces are planned for the top floors.
The building has a geothermal heat pump for heating and cooling purposes. It is the first office building in Düsseldorf to be awarded the DGNB Gold eco-standard.
