Dipl.-Ing. Architect, Senior Director
As Senior Director at ingenhoven architects, Barbara Bruder is responsible for a wide range of large projects. After completing her architectural studies at Berlin University of the Arts, she started her career at the Düsseldorf office in 1990. In 2000 she became project partner and, in 2009, was appointed Director, finally advancing to Senior Director in 2017.
In recent years, Barbara Bruder has been in charge of a range of office and administration buildings. These include, in particular, the HDI headquarters in Hanover, the Burda Media Park in Offenburg, and the Uptown Building in Munich for the O2 head office.
In addition, she has extensive experience of building projects for public clients. One of these clients is the City of Freiburg. In 2017, the first building phase of the Freiburg town hall was completed; this is considered to be the first public net-surplus-energy building worldwide.
More recently, Barbara Bruder has increasingly focused on residential projects, hotels, and high-rise buildings. An example is the Oval high-rise residential building at Kaiserkai in Hamburg, which was built under her lead management. In the field of hotel development she was in charge of the Lanserhof resorts in Tegernsee and Lans, which have both been completed, and the IC Hotel at Messe Hamburg.
Currently she is involved in the design for the modernization of the traditional Dom Hotel close to Cologne Cathedral, as well as the Gerling Quarter with horseshoe building, Century Hall, and Spiesergasse.
