Golden Flower environmental prize for Christoph Ingenhoven

Christoph Ingenhoven will be honored with the Golden Flower 2023, a stylized golden dahlia, for his outstanding commitment and contributions to sustainable architecture. The most traditional German environmental prize has been awarded every two years by the city of Mönchengladbach since 1967. It recognizes merits in the field of environmental protection and the preservation of our living space on earth. Among the previous 28 recipients are ethnographer Thor Heyerdahl, botanist and ecologist Akira Miyawaki, former Federal Environment Minister Klaus Töpfer and most recently, author and documentary filmmaker Hannes Jaenicke. Ingenhoven is the first architect to receive the prize. The award ceremony will take place on September 9th at the theatre in Mönchengladbach.
